Carlos Mendoza, also known as “Doza,” is a prominent figure in Montréal’s contemporary electro dance scene. An innovative artist, he stands out for his distinctive style and unconventional path. Born in Montréal to a Peruvian family, he has travelled across Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia to take part in battles, teach, serve on competition juries and connect with other electro dance specialists.

His passion for dance led him to pursue postsecondary studies at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. He then began a career as a dance performer, collaborating with renowned choreographers such as Rhodnie Désir, Hélène Langevin and Alexandre Morin, and also appeared in Season 4 of Révolution. Alongside his performing career, Doza created and organized E-Mortal, the only competition in Canada dedicated to electro dance. He has also presented his choreographic works at Tangente and at the PHI Centre, affirming both his creative voice and his commitment to the recognition of electro culture.

Today, he devotes much of his practice to teaching and mentorship, training a new generation of electro dancers in Canada and internationally. A recognized performer, he regularly wins electro freestyle competitions and shares his passion by taking part in numerous events connected to urban dance culture.
