Laura Brisson

Originally from the city of Lévis, Laura Brisson began her dance‑performance training at the École de danse de Québec (EDQ) in 2019. She then continued her professional studies at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM), where she graduated in 2023. Since then, she has been dedicated to developing her career as both a performer and a creator.

As a performer, she has worked with choreographers and companies such as Stephanie Lake, Mark Sampson, Alejandro Sajgalik, Cie DansEncorps, and Bouge de là. She also enjoys taking part in various collectives and projects led by emerging choreographers.

In her creative practice, her interest in scenography, light, and materiality merges with her exploration of a versatile, complex, and sensorial body. She presented her first solo work at BOOMERANG – Danses partagées 2024. She also deepened different aspects of her dance and choreographic practice at ImPulsTanz 2024 in Vienna, within the ATLAS choreographic training program. She later performed her solo creation ECHOES_light+body at Danses Buissonnières (TANGENTE) and presented an excerpt of the work at Studio 303. In 2025, she received the Sofia Borella Grant, which allows her to continue developing the piece.

She continues to enrich her dance practice by taking part in various workshops and intensives, both locally and internationally.
