2025 Master Classes

2025 Master Classes

This year, Bouge de là is once again partnering with Circuit-Est and Département de danse de l’UQAM to offer Master classes for the 2025 academic and cultural year!

Marianne Gignac-Girard will be teaching four days of technique-focussed contemporary dance classes to help professional dancers and dance students* get back into the swing of things after the summer break.

Classes run August 25 to 28 at Circuit-Est.

10:00 a.m. to 11:30 :

This pressure-free class invites you to practice your art with a focus on self-connection and active listening. Marianne’s hybrid approach combines exercises in pairs, basic dance language work, and individual exploration in order to foster awareness, presence, and creativity. She provides a warm, trusting environment where you can let movement unfold naturally and intuitively.

Capacity: 30 participants per class (student registrations capped at 15)

Advanced registration and payment are encouraged.

Drop-ins are welcome!

Marianne Gignac-Girard

After several years of practicing ballet, Marianne Gignac-Girard turned to contemporary dance, graduating from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2005. She went on to perform with Cirque du Soleil in the United States and appear in multiple productions with O Vertigo. As both a dancer and a rehearsal director, Gignac-Girard regularly collaborates with emerging Montreal artists. She is thrilled to have been working with Bouge de là for the past three years.

Alongside her dance career, Gignac-Girard teaches Pilates and other movement practices tailored to the physical needs of dancers and non-dancers alike. Her classes combine warmth, sensitivity, and creativity, with an emphasis on encouraging each dancer to explore movement with presence, ease, and freedom.
